After two long years we were finally able to return to Kipsamoite. We installed a giant water butt, and with our Water Butt Challenge, the children raised over £1700 !!! We are now focussed on completing Phase 3 ~ building two more new classrooms, aswell as beginning Phase 4 ~ a new toilet block and a water well for clean water. Please keep up your fantastic donations as without you we can't do this. Thank you SO mvery much, every penny makes a difference !!!
For most 2020 has been a horrible year but for us it has also been a year of achievement with the completion of phase 2 of the project. Everything finally came together as a further 2 classrooms were completed along with a staff room, 3 offices and a library all situated in our 2 story centerpiece. At the end of the project everyone was invited to the grand opening attend by the Deputy District commissioner and Village chief what a wonderful day that was.
With some additional funding from our kind sponsors & extra fundraising, the school were able to organise a trip for the whole school. For most, it was the first time they had ever seen the amazing wildlife of Africa & the beauty of their own surroundings. What an inspirational trip to be able to give them...
With our past year of fundraising we have now been able to continue the build. We have been able to open 2 new class rooms to the children this March and we now have the second floor beginning to take shape. We still need much more help to keep the project going so please don't give up the hard work everyone xxx
The heavens opened and it seems we were just in time! As you can see, there was some substantial damage to the original classrooms from the storm which struck overnight. Thank you all !!! Imagine if we hadn't been able to provide for these young children, we dread to think what state their old school may have been in by now.
The children at Krakatoa Pre-School in Oxfordshire have all been taking part in a sponsored scoot in order to raise money for The Nandi Project.
We collected donations from far & wide of nearly new shoes from children around the UK & raised valuable funds for our Nandi School Project in Kipsamoite, Africa.
